Eric Morrison

Eric Morrison played independent professional baseball in the Continental and New York State Leagues from 2008 to 2009. He was an outfielder for the Texarkana Gunslingers, Coastal Kingfish, and New York Federals. During two seasons and spanning 55 total games, he maintained a batting average of .262 and an on base percentage of .375. 

Morrison played Division I College Baseball at Duquesne University, which is part of the Atlantic 10 Conference. He was a four year starting centerfielder for the Dukes. Throughout his 2005-2008 career, Eric had compiled a .308 batting average, with 237 hits (DU record), 49 doubles (DU record), 12 triples, 11 home runs, and 132 RBIs. Morrison was the 2006 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Honorable Mention and is Duquesne's all-time leader in career fielding percentage of .998. He also played two seasons in the Cal Ripken Sr. and Jayhawk Leagues which are collegiate summer wooden bat leagues from 2006 to 2007. He batted .331 with a .411 on base percentage in a total of 88 games. Morrison earned Jayhawk League first team honors for outfield, and was a member of the All American Team in the NBC World Series in 2007. 

He played semi-pro baseball for Saint Johns Lefty’s in the National Amateur Baseball Federation for 17 seasons. The Saints won the NABF National World Series in 2013. Eric was inducted into the National Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame in Evansville, Indiana in 2018. 

A 2004 graduate of Bethel Park High School, he earned all section honors in 2003 and 2004. Morrison was the Post-Gazette All-South Player of the year in 2003, WPIAL All Star team member and Rawlings All District 2 Region Team member in 2004. Eric was inducted into the Bethel Park Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022. 

Morrison was a volunteer assistant coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania from 2009 to 2010. He worked with the IUP outfielders, hitters, and base runners. Morrison coached first base and assisted with the strength, speed, and conditioning program. He was the assistant varsity baseball coach at Keystone Oaks High School from 2011 to 2012. Eric has been a baseball instructor at Bianco baseball since 2010 and is a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Canon-McMillan School District.
